Friday Links- September 20

Kind Aesthetic
September 20, 2013

Welcome to o ur weekly round-up of things we found interesting and noteworthy during the week. Find it here every Friday! This week we were thinking a lot about artists.

DELVE Networking #4 was at CUE Art Foundation this past Tuesday, the 17th. Read all about it and join us for the next one.

Photoville has opened in Dumbo, Brooklyn and there are many great events.

A great list of residencies and opportunities galore for artists.

Follow Doug Aitken's Station to Station, a nomadic happening across the US by train, on Instagram through the rest of the month. So much fun!

Happy 10th Anniversary to Stephanie Diamond and her Listings Project, a phenomenal resource for creatives. Here is an interview with her.

It only happens every couple of years: you can still register for the Transcultural Exchange Conference in Boston to learn about international opportunities in the arts.

Bring your lunch!

Enjoy! Have a great weekend.

Looking for a way to gather with other artists about how we all can create change and react to the current insanity… https://t.co/MADysPweJf

You haven't heard from us in a long time and we're sorry about that! We're both happy to announce that we have each been busy with our professional lives and families, but that has left us less time for our DELVE projects and communications in 2019.

Don't forget that we have three online courses (link in profile) and are here to help facilitate and lead in person workshops.
Please follow along with us (@sarajones00 & @andreawenglowskyj ) and we'll look forward to connecting in the future. Thanks!

Hi everyone! 👋🏼 We’ve been on a much-needed hiatus from social media, but are looking forward to launching back in after Labor Day. Stay tuned for news about some in-person workshops and more coming soon! Enjoy the last few days of summer! XO #delveart

Join us tonight! Art. Activism. Creating Change. We will welcome speakers Jeff Bergman and Katrina Majkut and be surrounded by the powerful exhibition by Sheida Soleimani at CUE Art Foundation. The gathering starts at 7—link in profile to sign up!⠀
⠀
DELVE Gatherings are rooted in the desire to build a strong, supportive community around art, artists and contemporary issues. The theme we will be exploring this year at each event is Creating Change. Quiet or loud, social practice to solo studio painting, emerging to established, an artist’s voice is crucial to highlighting and synthesizing our human experience. We are interested in the critical eye and what it reveals, whether it’s a subtle visual pun or a loud, public proclamation. Art that comes from personal experience or a sense of civil responsibility resonates strongly, and has the power to activate society and potentially reimagine its structure.⠀
